Javier Macías is the Director of Community Outreach focused on health initiatives at The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). With over 12 years of experience in the organization, Mr. Macías continues to play a crucial role as a patient advocate and community leader.

In his national role, Javier leads minority-focused strategies to promote health equity and reduce disparities faced by blood cancer patients in underrepresented communities. He collaborates closely with health professionals, organizational leaders, and key community members to drive equity initiatives across the country.

Mr. Macías remains the host of “Cafecito con LLS” and oversees “Cortadito con Salud,” innovative online video programs designed to connect with the Latino community through stories of patients, survivors, community advocates, and cancer experts. His multifaceted approach includes organizing blood cancer education workshops, national online programs, Facebook Live series, webinars, and “Cancer 101” training sessions for community health workers.

Leveraging his bicultural and bilingual heritage, Javier has significantly expanded LLS’s reach to blood cancer patients nationwide. His presence across various media, from video interviews and YouTube content to Facebook Live presentations and educational programs in collaboration with cancer centers and community clinics, reflects his ongoing commitment to the community.

 As a recognized national leader, Mr. Macías actively participates in various coalition groups and boards, effectively representing LLS and his community. His dedication to health equity and ability to connect with diverse audiences position him as a key figure in the fight against blood cancer and in promoting inclusive health initiatives
