This award honors a physician, faculty member, or professional who has provided exceptional mentorship and support to members of LMSA while embodying the values of Dr. DeChavez: compassion, dedication, selflessness, and a commitment to reducing health disparities in LHS+ communities.
Dr. Moreira has exemplified these qualities through his tireless mentorship of students, residents, and colleagues, as well as his visionary leadership of MOLA. His work has been instrumental in increasing representation of LHS+ individuals in medicine and in shaping the next generation of medical leaders.
