Dr. Octavio Alejandro Vega is a first-generation Mexican American born and raised in the city of Chicago. He earned his bachelor ‘s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. Dr. Vega

completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center where he has continued his career as a primary care internist and Associate Professor of Internal Medicine.

He serves as faculty advisor for the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) and is an

Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency Program at RUSH. Additionally, he serves on several committees at RUSH and is co-director of the Health Equity Track in the Department of Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Vega currently resides in the northwest suburbs of Chicago with his wife, daughter, and twin boys.
