Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) hosted an inaugural Physician Diversity and Health Equity Summit on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 in which MOLA president Dr. Pilar Ortega and MOLA board advisor Dr. Jorge Girotti were among the featured speakers. The primary goal for the day was to engage stakeholders in the medical and academic communities in a discussion around the imperative for increasing underrepresented minorities in medicine and discuss a path forward.
