Synthetic marijuana has recently come to media attention due to deaths associated with its use. According to Dr. Subieta, MOLA board member, anesthesiologist and pain specialist, such synthetic marijuana are particularly dangerous because the may have additional components that are unknown, and because people do not consider it an official detectable or controlled substance, they think it must not be as dangerous as officially controlled substances.
