Michael Reese Research and Education Foundation

The Foundation was founded in 1991 by the physicians and staff of Michael Reese hospital when the Hospital was sold so that the safety net activities and grant programs could continue through the auspices of a non-profit foundation. Initially, the Foundation administered funding for research projects, supplemented educational expenses for housestaff and founded and managed funds for community programs, including HIV Care and Women’s Health.

Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the largest nonprofit funder of leading-edge research for every type of blood cancer, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other rare types of blood cancers.

ChicagoCHEC

Since inception in 2015, ChicagoCHEC has been a key player in advancing cancer health equity at the local and national level. ChicagoCHEC works with over 20 Community Partners in and around Chicago, has directly engaged 65 undergraduate and post-baccalaureate students to become involved in cancer research via the ChicagoCHEC Research Fellows

Program and the LEaP program and continues to work with many trainees as a part of the ChicagoCHEC Incubator & Catalyst Grant Program and other programming. To date, ChicagoCHEC consists of approximately 90 direct members who are involved in either research, training or community outreach and development.

Gift of Hope

At Gift of Hope, we coordinate the organ and tissue donation process and provide education about the importance of organ and tissue donation to the public and healthcare professionals in Illinois and northwest Indiana. As one of 57 organ procurement organizations (OPOs) that make up the nation’s donation system, we work with 180 hospitals and serve more than 12 million people in our donation service area. Since 1986, our efforts have saved the lives of more than 23,000 organ transplant recipients and improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of tissue transplant recipients.

Esperanza Health Centers – Centro Romero

In 2004, residents of the neighborhoods of Pilsen and Little Village on Chicago’s Southwest Side joined administrators from nearby Saint Anthony Hospital to address the critical lack of accessible health services in the area. They opened a community health center on South California Avenue called Esperanza, the Spanish word for “hope.”  Since then, Esperanza has provided bilingual, high quality primary care, behavioral health and wellness services to the community, regardless of immigration status, insurance status, or ability to pay.

UIC – Medical School

As a key goal and strategy within the College of Medicine’s Strategic Plan, we aim to foster a diverse, equitable, and inclusive UI COM-munity. We will provide resources for students, trainees, faculty, and staff and support cross-college and interdisciplinary engagement and integration.

Cook County Department of Public Health – Cook County Health System

Cook County Department of Public Health (CCDPH) works with numerous partners and communities on a regular basis. As a requirement for state certification by the Illinois Department of Public Health and for accreditation by the national Public Health Accreditation Board, CCDPH undertakes a community health planning process with partners every five years to set and revisit health priorities for the jurisdiction.

Project IMG is on a mission to connect medical students, graduates and physicians to collectively advance equality in medical education, globally. As a collective of learners and educators, we provide an ecosystem that guides and equips students throughout their medical education journey. By combining free, curated medical education programs with a peer support structure, we enable every student an opportunity to advance their academic career.

LMSA

The Latino Medical Student Association exists to unite and empower current and future physicians through service, mentorship, and education to advocate for the improved health of the Hispanic & Latina/o/x community in the United States.

Rush University

RUSH University is the academic enterprise of RUSH University Medical Center, an Illinois non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has an educational, research and clinical mission. Each component of the mission of RUSH University Medical Center is co-equal in importance, and this tripartite mission allows academics and research to be fully integrated with clinical practice, providing an educational experience built around a teacher-practitioner model in order to train the next generation of health care professionals and providers while promoting a research environment that goes hand in hand with clinical excellence.
