Exciting news! On September 12, 2025, the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) announced a new licensure process that will better enable International Medical Graduates (IMGs) to provide medical services to communities in Illinois. The International Medical Graduate Limited License allows for IMGs to practice under a supervising physician, paving the path to full licensure in Illinois. IMGs can apply for this new license here.
