My name is Luz Mata, and I am an M2 at Rush Medical College. Originally from Tampa, Florida, I earned my degree in Sociology and Health Disparities from the University of Florida. I am passionate about mentoring pre-medical students as they navigate the medical school application process. I am co-president with Jessica of the Latino Medical Student Association here at Rush. I enjoy spending time with my dog, Oliver, and my fiance on my free time.
My name is Jessica Toledo, and I am a second year medical student at Rush Medical College. I am a proud Mexican American and the daughter of immigrants, originally from Long Beach, California. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from UC Riverside and my Master of Science from Keck Graduate Institute. As Co-President of LMSA and a medical student, I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers, particularly those from marginalized backgrounds, and advocating for health equity in medicine. Outside of medicine, I enjoy cooking new recipes each week, singing, and going to concerts and festivals!
This is an in-person session happening at Rush University (location details in the Eventbrite). If you are interested in joining, please RSVP by Thursday, October 9th.
Hope to see you all there!
