Program Advancing Research for Equity – Undergrad

Provide ten junior and seniors undergraduate Hispanic students with clinical, biomedical and community-based research experience. An intense 10-week program that provides a foundation in research methodology, practical knowledge of research studies, and introduces participants to public health and health disparities.

PARE Requirements

  • Complete all sections of the online applications
  • Including a personal statement
  • Provide a copy of official school transcripts
  • Provide one letter of recommendation from instructor or advisor
  • Provide a resume or CV
  • Formal interview with finalists
  • Application deadline March 1, 2024

PARE Eligibility & Responsibilities

  • Be a resident of the state of Illinois
  • Must be a rising junior or senior with a premedical educational goal
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Committed to full ten weeks
  • Must attend program orientation, weekly seminars, and complete exit survey
  • Develop and present a scientific paper and presentation
  • Work (research) Monday – Friday 30hrs/week
