Dr. Adelis Arias is an IMG ECFMG certified from Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela. Following graduation from medical school, he worked as a rural physician in several underserved areas. Currently, Dr. Arias works in a level-one trauma center in Chicago as a Surgical First Assistant and is also a member of our Board of Directors and co-chair of the IHGs program. He is passionate about working with underserved populations, minorities, lifestyle medicine, diversity, equality, and inclusion. Dr. Arias is starting his medical residency training in Family Medicine this July 2023. During his time with the organization, he has contributed to developing several programs to support his fellow IMGs. He aims to practice medicine to the best of his knowledge and is a big advocate for increasing the representation of the Latino community within the healthcare field.
