Mock Residency Interview Program Outline

International Health Graduates (IHG) Committee – MOLA 2025-2026 Match Cycle

Purpose

The IHG Committee of MOLA is launching a Mock Residency Interview Program to support international medical graduates (IMGs) applying to residency in the 2025–2026 Match cycle. This initiative provides IMGs with practice opportunities, feedback, and mentorship while giving residents and faculty the chance to give back and strengthen the pipeline of future physicians.

Program Details

• Who can volunteer: Residents, fellows, or faculty with experience in the residency application or interview process.
  
• Who can participate: International medical graduates (IMGs) applying to the 2025–2026 Match cycle.
  
• Time commitment for volunteers: 1–2 hours (per session).
  
• Format: Virtual (Zoom/Google Meet).
  
• Dates: Late September and October 2025.
  
• Scheduling: Managed via Calendly or direct internal coordination between applicant and volunteer.
  
• Recognition: Volunteers will receive a Certificate of Appreciation from MOLA’s IHG Committee.

Volunteer Role

• Conduct a 20–30 minute mock interview.
  
• Provide 15–20 minutes of feedback on communication, professionalism, and content.
  
• Share personal insights and strategies about the residency interview process.

Timeline

• September 2025: Launch program and open volunteer sign-up.
  
• Early October 2025: Open applicant sign-up and begin matchng.
  
• October-November 2025: Conduct mock interviews.
  
• End of November 2025: Distribute Certificates of Appreciation to volunteers.

Program Oversight

• Coordinated by the IHG Committee (MOLA).
  
• Tracking of volunteers and applicants will be maintained via a shared spreadsheet for matching.
  
• Feedback from both volunteers and applicants will be collected post-program to improve future initiatives.
