He received his MD from Universidad de Chile in Santiago\, Chile\, completed his residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Cancer Center in Boston\, and fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He specializes in treating patients with different blood cancers who need stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies. These treatments are designed to eliminate the malignant cells by using the patient’s own immune system or the immune system of a different individual.
