DESCRIPTION:Date: Tuesday\, Apr 2\, 2024\nTime: 06:00 PM CT\nPresenters: Sara Izquierdo \nSara Izquierdo is a Peruvian-American medical student and Global Medicine scholar at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Medicine. As a Chicago native\, Sara has led numerous community activism projects\, utilizing her Master of Public Health to incorporate a socio-ecological approach to health and medicine. Sara’s background of organizing neighborhood-led vaccination campaigns and health fairs inspired her to establish the Mobile Migrant Health Team (MMHT) in April 2023 to address Chicago’s State of Emergency Crisis. Since its creation\, MMHT has served over 9\,000 unhoused Americans and recently arrived immigrant patients.
